Steve opens his axioms mini-series with a simple claim: no world-class brand lives in a single sales channel. An Amazon-only business can still be valuable, but he argues it caps out below what a multi-channel brand can reach.
He walks through low-risk ways to expand, adding a new geography before a whole new platform, and explains why single-channel dependence is really about de-risking a single point of failure.
He also flags a wrinkle: Amazon-focused aggregators may actually prefer single-channel businesses, so the right strategy depends on what kind of exit you're building toward.
